Membership

You are invited to Join!

The purposes and goals of our club are to unite and strengthen the social ties of the Swiss people, those of Swiss descent and their supporting friends; and to encourage, promote and preserve the culture and traditions of Switzerland.† Four membership application classifications are offered.†

Regular Membership:Any Swiss or American of Swiss descent who has reached the age of 16 years is eligible for regular membership.† Applications for membership may be approved at any regular meeting† (These are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm in the Ripon Swiss Hall). 16-17 years of age do not have to pay processing fee.

Passive Members:Any non-Swiss whose spouse is Swiss or American of Swiss descent.† A passive member cannot vote or hold office until he or she has been a member in good standing for five consecutive years.† After five years of membership, a passive member automatically becomes a regular member.† Applications may be approved at any regular meeting.

Social Members: Any non-Swiss person who is a good citizen and a regular participant and supporter of the club.† A social member cannot vote or hold office until he or she has been a member in good standing for five years.† After five years of membership, a social member automatically becomes a regular member.† Applications must be approved during an Annual General Meeting.†

Spousal Members: The spouse (legal husband or wife) of any of the above members shall be eligible for membership in any of the applicable membership categories by submitting a completed application and receiving approval.† There will be no initiation fee or yearly dues required as long as the initial membership is in good standing.

Dues & Fees:For all members excluding spousal membership, the dues are $40.00 per calendar year plus a one time initiation fee of $10.00 (both of which must accompany the application for membership).† The initial fee is waived for those joing before reaching the age of 18 years.

Members Benefits: (1) Members are notified of all club events by mail or email. (2) Upon request with the corresponding secretary members will be notified of deaths and funeral arrangements of deceased members by mail or email. (3) Upon the death of a member, a memberís spouse or a memberís child under 18, a floral memorial in the form of a red and white Swiss emblem will be presented at the services along with the American, Swiss and SJVSC flags.† (4) Members, their spouses and their children who have not reached the age of 18, receive a free meal at the Annual Memberís Bar-B-Que.† A non-married member receives one free meal for their guest.† (5) Associating with your Swiss friends & family in a friendly, safe, clean environment. (6) Members can rent the Swiss Hall for their social events at a discounted rate.
